  Thursday June 29 Digest
Happy Thursday!

Today is the 180th day of 2006, with 185 days remaining until 2007.

Tech:
Cellsea is nifty little tool I found that allows anyone to upload an image (from phone, PC, website, etc) and edit it using user-friendly tools with the same basic effects as Adobe Photoshop.
Digg is a great site that allows users to rank and post other interesting sites (the downside to this site is that it is mainly used by techies and the sites appearing often are about code and other complicated things)
QuikMaps is handy app that enables users to draw on Google Maps, sketching trails, routes, drawing pictures, labeling points of interest--its up to you.
Text-a-Parking Metera new technology that lets you pay for your parking via SMS and receive text messages when your time is running out. Let's spread it from Vancouver. How handy?!
Laptops=Life for the homeless. An interesting article and blog about how laptops give new hope (and revenue) to the homeless.
Meebo is a wonderful application that facilitates up to four different Instant Message services all in your browser window (a great use of ajax!). I've completely stopped using all my other IM clients.
Mozes is a brand newt start-up (still in beta) that is working to make things like group SMS available, along with other profile information, to your phone. It still has some bugs to work out, but I see a lot of potential. Try it while it's free!
Free TV on your PC There are a good 70 channels on this site--everything from Bloomberg to MTV--that you can watch in your browser for free!

Business, News, & Editorial:
Springwise is by far my favorite entrepreneurial idea site. It features a weekly digest of great brand-new business ideas from all over the world.
The Coolhunter is also a great site that compiles a lot of (obviously) cool things from all over the world (mainly European). I especially like their advertising section with a diverse collection of some of the best ads and gimmicks (once again mainly European) from around the world.
EMI and WMG bid for each other Two music companies having a bidding war...over each other. Sound a little silly to you too? May the richest win.

Humanities & Historical:
DaVinci's complete journals compiled and provided free online by The Gutenberg Project.
Big Brother Eyes make people more honest. A new study found that people are more likely to pay on the honor system when a poster with Big Brother Eyes instructs you to.

Cultural & Comical:
Ferrari Enzo For Sale With Owner A 26-year old woman is selling her Ferrari Enzo along with herself. You can bid on eBay stating at $1.6 million.
Training Your Husband Like Shamu Apparently the same techniques used to teach Shamu to jump are perfect for your spouse.
The Singhsons The best Indian animated comedy around.
Al Gore is much more entertaining when animated and interacting with robots.
Ubiquitous Leather Thongs Apparently flip-flops are allowed to be fashionable now. Yippee!
Bush's Bill of Rights Newly Declassified and published from your favorite White dwelling.

Well...that's a good start for today. Check back tomorrow for the latest and greatest. -DD
